Default Simple Green???

Anyone use this to detail their engine bay? Good/Bad/Indifferent?

Do you need to dilute it?

Was going to follow this up with some 303 aerospace protectant

I've used it on the plastic pieces/hoses. I've heard that simple green can eat up aluminum.

I've used simple green on many different surfaces. Plastics, hoses, wheels, tires, you name it. I've never seen it damage anything. About the only thing I haven't used it on is actual automobile paint. The product is a great degreaser and can be used diluted or full strength for tougher jobs.

Does anyone else find that it turns into an orangish color after it is exposed to the surface of rubber. I cleaned the tires of an MDX with it and it seemed to be pulling the dirt right off but there was still some left.

Yep, I've seen that stuff. I'm still hunting around to see if I can find it locally. Until then I'm going to have to order some Meg's APC.

I ran out of Griots Garage Engine Cleaner so I used Simple Green with a 1:1 ratio with water. It did such a good job I used it to clean the wheels, tires, and fender liners of my Dodge Durango.
