I've used simple green on many different surfaces. Plastics, hoses, wheels, tires, you name it. I've never seen it damage anything. About the only thing I haven't used it on is actual automobile paint. The product is a great degreaser and can be used diluted or full strength for tougher jobs.

Does anyone else find that it turns into an orangish color after it is exposed to the surface of rubber. I cleaned the tires of an MDX with it and it seemed to be pulling the dirt right off but there was still some left.

I ran out of Griots Garage Engine Cleaner so I used Simple Green with a 1:1 ratio with water. It did such a good job I used it to clean the wheels, tires, and fender liners of my Dodge Durango.
