The manual does not specify the size of the screw. The Flex comes with two extra screws to attach the back plate. I took one to a hardware store, and bought a screw that appeared to be the same size. It fit in the Flex perfectly. The size of the screw to attach the back plate is M8, which I assume stands for metric 8mm. In any event the size is M8. It is a socket head cap screw, but that is not required.

Bob,

Thanks for figuring out what the size was for us. Having Edge make an adapter for the Flex would be great for the auto detailing community.

Well, I forwarded the information to Aaron at Edge Pads. Hopefully, he's willing to do something so that Edge pad users can switch to the Flex and remain Edge pad users.

Default Great just Great

First day at DU and within 30 minutes I ordered my very own FLEX. Been following the FLEX on other forums for some time but today was the day. With so much positve discussion I wonder why DI is the only place I have found the FLEX actually for sale? Instead of trying to find the right polishes for my PC, I found the right buffer for my polishes!

Thank You ZORAN, it was your postings that first brought my attention to the FLEX many monthts ago!!

First day,first posting, first purchase!

UPDATE: Good news!!! Thanks to Bob's (a/k/a Dogged) trip to the hardware store we now know the thread size required to attach a backing plate to the Flex. The even better news is as I write this Aaron at Edge pads is making me the world's only Flex Edge 2000 adapter. This will allow me to use my Edge 2000 flat pads, wave pads, and (best of all) 4" pads with the Flex.

I'm going to be testing it out and letting Aaron know how it goes. If it works out for me it could end up going into production.

Now just to buy a Flex . . .
