Default Use of an All-in-One product

What role does an All-in-One product play in the detailing routine? My routine is to give the exterior of the car a full detail twice a year with a clay bar, polish, glaze, sealant and wax, to wax monthly, and to use an all-in-one product in the off quarters.

In the off quarters, would it be better to use an All-in-One to strip off wax and give the car a light polishing, or would it be better simply to put on a sealant?

The all-in-one products I am familiar with are Klasse All-in-One and Menzerna Acrylic Jacket. I am also aware that Zaino recently released Z-AIO. What is your favorite All-in-One?

I have two AIO type products in my collection right now: Optimum Poli-Seal and Meguiar's #6 Cleaner Wax. Personally, I'm not a big fan of AIO products. IME they don't polish all that well and they don't protect all that well. On my personal car, I'd rather take the time and do two seperate steps to get the best results. However, on other people's cars I do use AIO products to save time.

If you did a full polishing only twice a year, in the off quarters do you think it is better to use an AIO or to use a pure sealant?

My detailing is all about using the least aggressive method to get the job done. Your car only has a finite amount of clear coat on it. So why remove any when you don't need to?

If your car doesn't need to be polished then you're getting more aggressive than necessary by using an AIO product. Just use a pure sealant or wax to add protection instead.

Sealants obviously offer you greater protection. But if its been a rough quarter (season) and you need a little paint cleaning, an AIO is a nice alternative. Theres a couple of spray sealants out there as well, that could compliment a AIO very nicely. Four Star Ult Paint Protectant, Duragloss AW, Optimum SPray Wax. Actually, I like to use those products monthly (On my own car that is). Thats about all the time I have anyway!

I totally agree. Use the AIO as necessary was my point as well. I hope that was clear in my last post. One thing a lot of people new to detailing have a hard time with is understanding when to perform certain detailing processes. They feel there should be a calendar saying every two months polish, every week wash, etc. In order to extend the life of your car's original materials you should detail as necessary and only to the level of aggressiveness necessary.

That was also a great suggestion about using a spray sealant/wax. I too like to throw down a spray wax on my car. It's so easy I usually do it after almost every wash.

I really like the Duragloss all in one. It works great and is very durable.
