My other post was just to check we can still say zymol on here. Its all gone crazy over here. You cant even write the company name without it looking like this *****. Its made the wax section of detailing world look very odd.
We cant even write words like vintage or royale, without them looking like this ******. Zymol uk have even email'd pro detailers to remove links to other detailers on their web sites. If they want everyone to move over to swissvax, they are doing a very good job about it. Go check out A world for detailers... and see for yourself. Its madness. The people on DW, myself included, spend big bucks on detailing products. We are not happy. Zymol have really shot themselves in the foot here. Im sure there will be a drop in sales following this. |

Thats odd... seems they have forgotten who the customer is.

I went to the Detailing World website and did a search for the term "Zymol." Just like paddy328 said, I got a bunch of asterisks where the word Zymol should have been (such as "*****"). I then did a word search for "Royale" and "Vintage," and got the same thing. Thus, a reference to "Zymol Vintage Glaze" would read "***** ******* Glaze."
You are right; it is unbelieveable. Wouldn't the Administrator of the Detailing World forum have to agree to insert the asterisks? Why would the Administrator agree to do that? And why would Zymol even want it done? Very strange indeed. Is this peculiarity limited to the Detailing World forum, or have other forums been similarly affected. I checked a couple of the prominent detailing forums maintained in the US, and found no asterisks in place of Zymol. |

Who cares about zymol anyway.
Silly to do what they have.

Very weird. I will say this - in my ongoing experience with Zymol and people who have dealt with the in the past I get the impression they are a very, very poorly run company. A shame too, because they make good products.

I'd tell them to piss off. I'm in America and have a freedom of speech. That includes not only verbally but also in txt. As long as you're not trying to sell a product under that name, there is nothing illegal about it. I emailed them to express my unhappiness about this. Everyone else should do the same.

Here are a few quotes from the Detailing World website:
"[i] love their products so much we decided on ***** ******...." "I was quite surprised at how lumpy the ****** seemed compared to my ******* and other ***** waxes." "Just used ****** today and all i can say is WOW." "First time with ***** ******" "My dad is getting a new car in a couple of weeks and with fathers day coming up I’m going to get him some ***** ******." "The ****** is a very durable wax...." "I’m really tempted to get some ******...." My ***** ****** and ***** microwipes arrived today...." After reading a number of posts on the website from time to time, I have been very impressed with the dedication and knowledge of many of its members. The site has over 8,000 members, and has established itself as a very good detailing forum. The boss man can make demands, but does not have the power to unilaterally make it happen. As an outsider to the forum, it is very hard to understand why the adminstrators of the site have allowed this to happen. It looks like something out of a Monty Python routine. I did not see a posted explanation. From a marketing or business perspective, I cannot image what Zymol is thinking. Last edited by Dogged : 07-06-2007 at 01:03 AM. |

The mods on DW have put the filter on to protect themsleves from legal action from zymol. Have a look in the off topic section and the z word and websites and link threads.
It will explain all. Kind of. |
