Default Review - Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss

Product :
Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss

Price :
$12.95 for 16 oz bottle.

MFG Claim : (from Zainostore.com : Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss: Zaino Store)

For many years I have been dissatisfied with tire dressings available in the consumer market. Most are loaded with silicone oil, and those that aren't don't shine well. Plus, most of the products we've tested are very greasy, leave an oily and messy, attract dirt and dust like a magnet, and sling off the tire. Not to mention, have you ever seen a silicone oil-based dressing that has UV protection?
We created Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ to solve these problems once and for all. Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ is a non-oily, rubber and exterior vinyl finishing treatment. Our unique formula contains Ultra-Gard™ UV(40) and our exclusive moisturizing and antistatic solution to prevent drying, cracking and browning. Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ helps repels dust and dirt to keep your tires looking great, longer. One application of Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ leaves an incredibly durable, water repellent, perfect looking satin finish, that's only slightly glossy and dry to the touch.

How I used :

I use either one of these 2 methods when applying tire dressing/sealant.
1) Foam paint brush, which is about 1.5" wide : I squeeze a thin line on tip of foam brush, and paint my tires.
2) Eagle One Tire Swipe, cut it half : Just the perfect size to dress my tires (235/35/19F and 265/30/19R). I squeeze a thin diagonal line, and dress.

Thoughts :

- So far, I've used 3 other tire dressings, Mothers FX Tire Shine, Poorboy's Bold N Bright, and Hi-Temp Grape Tire Dressing. Based on my experience, Z-16 outlasted all 3 tire dressings.

- Z-16 gives a low gloss/matte look with one application. If you want a bit more shine, apply another coat and it'll give more gloss.

- If you like "bling" dressings, Z-16 probably is not your best choice. Mothers FX Tire Shine is my go-to dressing for high gloss.

- Absolutely no sling. To be fair, I haven't experienced sling on any of the dressings I own/used.

- I also like the fact that Z-16 can be used on plastic trim, molding, rubber and vinyl surface (I use Z-26 on my vinyl interior, which is a mixture of Z-10 and Z-16).

- Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that cleaning tires thoroughly is very important when using a water-based dressings. So anyone who plan to use water-based dressing, clean your tires as much as you can with a stiff brush, using APC or similar. You might have to do this several times for Z-16 to yield best/desired result.

Excellent tire and rubber dressing. I use it on my tires, weatherstripping, Pick up trim, engine compartment and in my interior on trim pieces. It has excellent durability, the perfect level of low gloss or matte finish. Finish can be adjusted easily by using more or less and it does not sling. I only wish it came with a spray nozzle that I could screw on to the bottle but that is not a big deal as I just pour it in my own spray bottle. I also cut up a grout sponge to use as an applicator.
